FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about claiming your US dental insurance for work done in Mexico.

The basics

How does Credimed work?

We help you recover money from your US dental PPO insurance for dental work done in Mexico. You upload your receipt + your insurance card, we prepare the claim, submit it to your carrier, and the carrier pays you directly. You only pay our fee once.

How much does Credimed cost?

Pricing depends on claim complexity: Standard $49, Plus $79, Premium $99. Complexity is set by our system based on number of procedures, document count, and receipt clarity. One flat fee, no commission on your refund.

What is the 100% money-back guarantee?

If your claim was eligible under your plan and we can't get a refund after the initial submission and one free resubmission, we return 100% of your fee. Refund processing takes 5-10 business days back to the original payment method.

Do I have to be in Mexico to use Credimed?

No. You just need to have had the dental work done in Mexico and have your receipt and insurance card. You can submit the claim from anywhere, anytime within your insurer's claim window (typically 12 months from the procedure).

Coverage & insurance

What insurance carriers do you support?

All major US PPO carriers: Delta Dental, Cigna, Aetna, MetLife, United Healthcare, Guardian, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and more. PPO only — we don't accept HMO plans or Medicaid.

How much will my insurer reimburse?

Most members recover $600-$1,500. The exact amount depends on your plan's coverage percentage, your annual maximum, and the procedures performed. Our system gives you an instant refund estimate after you upload your documents.

What if my claim is denied?

Two paths. (1) Free resubmission — if we find a new angle or missing detail, we file again at no charge. (2) If your claim was eligible under your plan and resubmission also fails, our 100% money-back guarantee kicks in.

Documents & process

What documents do I need?

Two files: (1) photo or PDF of your dental insurance card, both sides if possible; (2) the dentist receipt from Mexico with itemized procedures. JPG, PNG, or PDF format.

Why do you need my insurance card?

To identify your specific plan and calculate your coverage accurately. Without the card we can't tell which procedures are covered or what percentage your insurer reimburses.

My receipt is in Spanish. Is that a problem?

No, we translate it. Upload it as-is — our team handles the English translation and maps the Mexican procedure descriptions to CDT codes (the standard format US insurers recognize).

What happens after I upload my documents?

Our system processes the receipt in about 2 minutes, shows you the refund estimate, you choose a plan, sign the agreement, pay the one-time fee, and we submit your claim to your insurer within 24 hours.

How long does the whole process take?

We submit within 24 hours. Insurers typically respond in 3-6 weeks (some up to 8). Approved refunds arrive in your account 3-7 business days after.

Plans & resubmissions

Why did I get Standard, Plus, or Premium?

We assign a plan based on claim complexity. Standard ($49) for simple claims — few procedures, clear receipt. Plus ($79) for multiple procedures or harder receipts. Premium ($99) for ambiguous procedure codes, many procedures, or low-quality receipts that need more processing.

What does my plan include?

All plans include: claim preparation, Spanish→English receipt translation, mapping to CDT codes, submission to your insurer, follow-up tracking, and one free resubmission if denied. Plus and Premium include more detailed code review.

Is the $19 resubmission fee real?

The first resubmission is free. Each additional submission after that is $19, but only if you choose to retry — never automatic. Most claims are resolved within the free attempts.

Payment & security

How do I get paid?

Your insurer pays you directly, not Credimed. Some send a check by mail, others use direct deposit based on the method they have on file with you. Funds typically arrive 3-7 business days after approval.

Is my information protected?

Yes. Your medical data is encrypted with AWS KMS (256-bit), all communication uses HTTPS/TLS, and we operate under HIPAA-aligned practices. We have Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) signed with AWS and Google Workspace. We never share your information with third parties except your insurer.

What if my insurer calls me asking for information?

That's normal — some insurers verify data directly with the policy holder. Confirm the information they ask based on your claim. If you need us to answer something technical, email support@credimed.us with the detail.

Can I edit my claim after submitting?

Once submitted to the insurer we can't modify it, but if your insurer requests additional info we'll email you to coordinate. For pre-submission corrections, email support@credimed.us.
